It is often forgotten that the Lubuskie Voivodeship is a real land of lakes. There are about 600 of them in the region and, interestingly, from one of them you can reach the Baltic Sea. The lakes located near Zielona Góra are an ideal place to spend free time, especially for enthusiasts of active recreation, water sports and … fishing enthusiasts.
Reaching Lake Wojnowskie from Zielona Góra takes just 30 minutes. The reservoir consists of two branches with different ecosystems and its banks are quite high, sandy and mostly covered with pine forests. The lake area is 229 hectares and the length of the shoreline is 17475 meters. This place is ideal for people who like to spend time in the bosom of nature, because the surroundings of Lake Wojnowskie are inhabited by many interesting species of waterfowl and animals. Surrounding forests make people resting in this area enjoy extremely favorable air.
Next to the beach is a playground, as well as covered seats. Cyclists can easily go for a ride around the lakes, and the route leads both asphalt roads and charming forest and field paths.
Interestingly, Wojnowskie Lake is a place often visited by anglers for whom special stands around the reservoir have been prepared.
The Sławskie Lake is the largest Lubusz reservoir and due to the large, spacious beaches it enjoys considerable popularity among tourists. Nature lovers can find here many birds of prey such as white-tailed eagle or osprey, but also have the chance to see cormorants.
On the Sławskie Lake we can also find a new guarded beach, which is open from 10:00 to 18:00. A 185-meter stone promenade was created, which you can walk comfortably.
What can you do at Lake Sławskie? This lake is the beginning of the Lubuskie Water Trail, which is often visited by canoeing enthusiasts. The route is nearly 200 meters so people who like active holidays in beautiful natural circumstances should take part in a kayaking trip. The more that you can rent equipment on site.
Interestingly, you can also go windsurfing on the Sławskie Lake. This is possible due to the large surface of the body of water and favorable winds.
Despite the fact that access from Zielona Góra to Lake Lubiąż can take over an hour, it is worth deciding to travel, because it is one of the most picturesque lakes in the Lubuskie Province.
The basin covers an area of approx. 1.5 thousand square meters and its average depth reaches 5 meters. On the lake there are two islands, of which the Island of Love is the most famous. The charm of this place is also made up of numerous bays and a forest-covered shore.
Hikers can take advantage of the picturesque over 12 km path around Lake Lubiąż. There are also 30-kilometer bicycle routes around the lake.
An interesting attraction may be visiting the “Jan” reserve and the palace in Lubniewice. At this point it is worth mentioning that it was at Lake Lubiąż that the film “Art of Loving” was shot about Michalina Wisłocka.
