Lubuskie Voivodeship is not only forests and areas famous for its monuments and local wineries. Lubuskie is also a region that encourages active leisure. Cycling enthusiasts will surely find something for themselves. Soon 24 km of new bicycle paths will be created.

New paths for cyclists

Cycling has a positive effect on our health and fitness. Thanks to bicycle rides we can lose unnecessary kilograms in beautiful natural circumstances. It is certain that more cycling routes will be created in Lubuskie.

According to Marshal Elżbieta Anna Polak:

“Bicycle tourism is becoming an increasingly important element of the image of the region and the tourist offer. Residents and tourists are more and more willing to put on a bicycle as a way of spending free time and recreation. ”

New bike paths with a total length of 24 kilometers will be built in Babimost, Kargowa and Zbąszynek, and the total cost of the project is to cost about PLN 12.9 million. The voivodship board decided to support the financing and cover the project for the value of 9.8 million PLN.

The project is called “Integrated Bicycle Paths System in the municipalities of Babimost, Kargowa and Zbąszynek” and its aim is to create a network of bicycle paths that will act as transport corridors and will become an alternative to other means of transport. The scope of the entire investment includes the construction of 8 routes of bicycle paths, where their total length will be approximately 24 774 m, including:

  • In the municipality of Babimost – 9,230 m
  • In the commune of Zbąszynek – 10,548 m
  • In the municipality of Kargowa – 4 996 m
